Christine Tran holds a B.A in Economics from Cornell University
and an MBA from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of
Business with a concentration in real estate finance from USC’s Lusk Center for
Real Estate. Christine started her career in strategic management
consulting and venture capital financing and subsequently transitioned into
commercial real estate and small business lending for the past 20 years.
Christine has risen through the ranks of commercial lending and held leadership
roles establishing and managing a region and leading a team of commercial
lenders. Christine also has expertise as a commercial loan underwriter, has
written lending policy manuals and had held signing authority to approve
commercial loans.
Her experience also includes real estate portfolio management as
well as valuing performing and non-performing loans, loan sales, loan workouts,
and commercial real estate brokerage. Before founding Invictus Real Estate
Advisors, Christine served as the Acting Team Lead, Lending Platform of the
Massachusetts Housing Investment Corporation, a CDFI and forerunner in
mission-based lending. Christine has also held influential roles at Salem Five
Bank, ING Bank, Real Estate Finance, MetLife Real Estate Investments, GE
Capital Real Estate Finance, the Debt Exchange, and Marcus & Millichap.
Christine’s tenure as Head of Asia for ING Bank’s Commercial
Real Estate Finance division stands out as a hallmark of her professional
career. Christine was tasked with a three-year international assignment,
spearheading ING Bank’s commercial real estate entry into four critical
markets: Hong Kong, Singapore, China, and Japan. Her leadership and strategic
execution were instrumental in establishing ING’s commercial real estate
presence in Asia. Under her leadership, the loan book witnessed remarkable growth
to an impressive $1 billion in commercial real estate loans within just three
years.
Upon her return to the USA, Christine joined Salem Five Bank,
where she played a pivotal role as a commercial loan underwriter and small
business banker for five years. This position allowed her to further expand her
skill set, demonstrating deep engagement and expertise with small business
owners and real estate investors.
Christine’s passion for mission-driven real estate found its
true expression at the Massachusetts Housing Investment Corporation, where she
met change makers who sought commercial financing to create inclusive
communities. The name ‘Invictus,’ meaning ‘invincible’ in Latin, mirrors
Christine’s dedication to empowering clients, especially those who have been
traditionally marginalized.
Christine had previously served on the board for the Asian
American Real Estate Association (AAREA) in Boston for the commercial division
and was a mentor for Entrepreneurship for All (EforAll). In Christine’s free
time, she enjoys homeschooling her son, Julian. Her personal interests include
gardening, beekeeping, and real estate renovations.
